Tour Bus Course
The first stop Chaeseokgang Cliff is one of Buan’s iconic tourist attractions. The cliff is marked by sedimentary precipices dating back to the Mesozoic period. Although it resembles layers of books, its name “Chaeseokgang” was adopted for its resemblance to the Chinese equivalent of this location. The beautiful Chaeseokgang Cliff created by coastal erosion is rated to be the finest landscape near Mount Oibyeon, attracting a stream of tourists year-round. The sea cave along the cliff is one of the most popular spots nowadays among the younger crowd who enjoy posting pictures on social media. Walking from the cliff and along the beach trail, visitors can reach Naesosa Temple tucked inside a forest. Tall and thin fir trees along the way to the temple provide a cool shade and serene atmosphere. This trail from Iljumun Gate to Cheongwangmun Gate that resembles a tunnel with 500 firs on both sides is about 600 meters long. It is selected as one of Korea’s 100 most beautiful trails. Naesosa Temple is a Buddhist temple originally founded under the name “Soraesa (蘇來寺)” by the priest Hyegu Duta (惠丘頭陀) in 633 or the 34thyearunderKingMu’sreign in the Baekje dynasty. Upon arriving at the temple’s main Daewoongbojeon hall designated as the Treasure No. 291, visitors can discover and appreciate the understated beauty of age-old wood and its subdued colors along with beautifully delicate floral lattice works. With the serene temple in the backdrop, tourists head to Byeonsan Beach, which is one of Korea’s oldest and most well-known beaches. The car campsite recently installed near the parking lot is popular and highly regarded by campers, who enjoy its spacious and pleasant facilities adjacent to Najko Park that boasts a breath-taking sunset view. The last stop is Gomso Fermented Food Center, which offers visits to the Pickled Fish Promotion Hall and Shop and experiential programs for children, who can try their hands at making natural toothpaste with sea salt, three-colored salt, and clay art.
