- Background of Construction
- The Gyeokpo Intercity Bus Terminal was built to facilitate transportation convenience for residents in the area of Gyeokpo, Byeonsan-myeon, Buan-gun, Jeollabuk-do and to play the role of being a gateway to the region.
- Composition
- The Gyeokpo Intercity Bus Terminal, which is a one-storied building, consists of a bus depot, a convenience store, and restrooms. As there are no separate waiting rooms or ticket offices, the convenience store also serves as a ticket office.
- Current Status
- The terminal has three intercity bus lines, including the bus line to Buan, while it is also a major stopover and departure & destination stop for rural buses by connecting the Gyeokpo area to other rural areas. The intercity bus lines are to Buan, Jeonju (via Buan and Gimje), and Jeongup (via Gomso and Julpo). As of 2020, the bus fares are KRW 3,600 for Buan, KRW 8,900 for Jeonju, KRW 5,900 for Gimje, and KRW 6,000 for Jeongeup.
The rural bus lines include routes to Buan, Mohang, Gunghang, Banwol, Naesosa & Gomso, and other areas. The buses to Buan are available at 06:40 am [via Sogyeok], 07:20 am [via Yooyoo-dong], 08:05 am [via Hot Springs], 09:00 am [via Buan Dam], 09:40 am [via Sogyeok], 10:30 am, 12:20 am, 13:20 am [not available on weekends], 14:15 pm, 16:05 pm, 17:10 pm, 18:20 pm [via Hot Springs, not available on weekends], 18:40 pm, 19:40 pm, and 20:30 pm. The buses to Mohang are available at 07:30 am, 09:40 am [not available on weekends], 11:20 am [via Sogyeok], 12:40 pm [not available on weekends], 15:30 pm, 18:10 pm, and 19:50 pm. The buses to Gunghang are available at 07:00 am, 10:10 am, 16:30 am, and 19:00 am; to Banwol, 08:30 am, 11:55 am, and 16:50 am; and to Naesosa & Gomso, at 09:20 am, 11:00 am, 13:10 pm, 15:20 pm, 17:10 pm, and 19:00 pm.
