Summary
The name “Haenaru” was selected from a brand-naming contest for residents of Jeollabuk-do in 2012. It means “to rest in the ocean,” or “a place where the sun sets.”
Background of Construction
Developed and constructed by the Jeonbuk Development Corporation, Mohang Haenaru Family Hotel construction was built to establish the tourism infrastructure in the Saemangeum Seawall area and to supplement insufficient lodging facilities.
Development
Constructed by Jeonbuk Development Corporation, the hotel opened on May 24, 2012 and is consigned and managed by the Business Group for Hospitality.
Composition
Covering 6,959㎡ in total area, the Mohang Haenaru Family Hotel has multiple stories above ground and one basement floor. The total number of the room is 112, which are classified into, the standard, deluxe, and suite. The hotel also has a banquet room that can accommodate up to 400 persons, convention facilities for seminars, restaurants, karaoke rooms, and convenient facilities plus leisure sports facilities including an outdoor swimming pool and an observatory.
Current Status
Since the Mohang Haenaru Family Hotel was built to boost the economy in the Buan region, the hotel aims to attract tourists by offering various events for hotel guests. In July, 2020, the hotel supported the “Jeollabuk-do Treats You with Smart Experiential Tours” organized by the Jeollabuk-do Tourism Marketing Support Center by paying a portion of the lodging cost (KRW 20,000 per adult) to families with children. The hotel also organized events to attract tourist from other provinces. The hotel is located right in front of Mohang Beach, and to east are Mohang Fishing Town Experience Village and the National Byeonsan Natural Recreational Forest. Fitting the tourist-friendly location in Buan on the Western coast, the Mohang Haenaru Family Hotel offers various contents from many tourist attractions in the area.
